Care Instructions
Simple steps to keep your handmade wool pieces looking their best.
Care for your Felted Bowl
To help your bowl last and keep its shape, follow these simple steps:
Weekly care
- Give it a good shake outdoors to remove dust and freshen the fibres.
- If moths are a concern in your home, treat occasionally with a natural moth repellent.
- Avoid using a vacuum cleaner, as this can damage the felt structure.
Washing
- Wash in lukewarm water (max 30 °C) with a gentle wool or silk detergent (low pH).
- Never use fabric softener — it hardens the fibres.
- Gently squeeze the bowl and let it soak for a few minutes.
- Rinse briefly in cold water until clear.
- Press out excess water (do not wring).
- Reshape while damp and leave to air dry naturally.

Care for Felted or Woven Rugs & Pads
These handmade pieces will serve you well for years if cared for properly:
Weekly care
- Take outside and give a good shake to loosen dust and refresh the fibres.
- Use a natural moth repellent if moths are common in your home.
- Avoid vacuuming, as this can disturb the fibre structure.
Washing
- Fill a tub with lukewarm water (max 30 °C).
- Add a gentle wool or silk detergent with low pH.
- Submerge the rug or pad (face down if felted), swish gently, then soak for about an hour.
- Rinse with cold water. Refill the tub with cold water plus a splash of vinegar (restores wool’s natural pH and removes residue). Optional: add a few drops of lavender, cedarwood, or tea tree oil to deter moths.
- Drain, press out excess water, then lay flat or hang to dry (face up if felted).
- Once dry, gently separate the locks of wool with your fingers if needed. Do not brush.
